A steam system does not consist only of the main boiler body. For efficient, safe and long-lasting operation, auxiliary equipment must be selected correctly. These equipment; It plays an important role in protecting water quality, heat recovery, condensate management and system stability.
If you want to examine the main system components, you can review steam boiler parts, and to see the general product family, you can review steam boiler solutions.

CONDENSATE TANK
The steam produced in steam boilers begins to condense after being used in the business. Condensate tanks are also part of this condensate return system and are used to store all the condensate returning from the steam system. After the condensate tanks, hot water is transferred to the deaerator. If there is no deaerator in the system, it is sent back to the boiler.
Condensate tanks are an important part of the steam system because they increase the overall efficiency of the boiler and since the system works closed, there is no steam leakage to the outside environment. Since the feed water to be sent to the boiler waits in the heat-insulated condensate tank without losing its heat, the amount of heat that must be given to heat the water in the boiler is reduced. This ensures fuel savings and lower operating costs.
DEGAZER TANK
Gases such as O2 and CO2 contained in the steam boiler feed water cause corrosion in steam boilers. This corrosion damages the boiler surface over time, reduces the thermal efficiency of the system and shortens the boiler life. Degasor tank is used to purify the feed water from these harmful gases. In this way, the life of the steam boiler system is extended and the decrease in boiler efficiency is prevented.
In order to purify the boiler feed water from these harmful gases, it must be degassed by passing it through a deaerator device.
ECONOMIZER
Economizers are steam boiler auxiliary elements that reduce operating costs by saving fuel. The temperature of the exhaust gases coming out of the boiler is very high. If we throw this heat out directly through the chimney, we will cause huge energy losses in the system. Instead, by placing a heat recovery device (Ekonomizer) between the boiler and the chimney, we bring the waste heat back into the system. In other words, economizers are used in steam boilers to capture the waste heat from the boiler flue gases and transfer it to the boiler feed water. An economizer that recovers waste heat can typically reduce fuel requirements by 5% to 10% and pay for itself in less than 2 years.
WATER SOFTENING SYSTEM
Another must-have steam boiler auxiliary equipment is the water softening system. Water softening systems is a system that helps purify the water from lime-forming ions and protects against the damage that hard water will cause to our steam boiler system, and also prevents undesirable problems such as narrowing, abrasion, perforation and clogging that may occur in pipelines due to lime. is the system.
Hard water has a higher boiling point due to its ionic structure. For this reason, more energy is used in heating hard water than soft water, and as hard water boils, it sticks to the boiler surface, causing calcification on the boiler surface. This calcification shortens the life of the steam boiler over time and reduces its efficiency. To prevent this, a water softening tank should be used in steam boiler systems.
SAND FILTER SYSTEM
Sand Filters is a part of the water softening system and is a filtration system that helps retain solids in the water. Depending on the need for water to be supplied to the steam boiler, this auxiliary equipment may need to be included in the steam boiler system.
BOILER CHIMNEY
The steam boiler equipment required to safely remove the harmful gases released as a result of the burning of solid, liquid or gaseous fuels in steam boilers and transmit them to the atmosphere is called chimney. While the chimney expels harmful gases, it also creates the necessary draft to ensure combustion in the steam boiler.

Why are auxiliary equipment important?
In many projects, it is not enough to focus only on the main boiler body. Auxiliary equipment; It has a direct impact on fuel consumption, water quality, maintenance needs and general operating costs. Therefore, project evaluation should be done with a whole system approach.
Steam boiler auxiliary equipment are the basic elements that support the efficient and safe operation of the system. For details on the main parts, you can visit the steam boiler parts article, and for model options, you can visit the steam boilers page.
