1. Pressostat Group

1.a.Presostat
If energy is supplied to the steam boiler, the water in the boiler will heat up and some of the water will turn into steam. As more water turns into steam, the temperature inside the boiler will increase and the boiler pressure will increase in proportion to the temperature. The pressure will continue to rise as the heating element continues to heat the boiler. If the pressure is not controlled, the boiler can explode with lethal force. (NOTE: All boilers have pressure relief devices to prevent explosion.) In such a case, the heating element should be disabled and the temperature of the boiler interior should be reduced to room temperature, allowing its pressure to drop. Pressostats are steam boiler equipment designed to shut down the heating system in case of unsafe high pressures.
There should be two pressure switches on the boiler. The first of these is the limit pressure switch and it stops the burner at the set value. The other one adjusts the pressure.
1.b.Manometer
It is the measuring element that shows the pressure of the fluid in the system.
2. Thermometer
It shows the temperature of the water inside the boiler.
3. Safety Valve
The basic device used to prevent excessive pressure in
Steam boiler plant is the safety valve. Safety valves are boiler elements that serve to safely reduce the boiler pressure by releasing some liquid in the steam boiler when the pressure value in the steam boilers reaches the predetermined maximum pressure. The safety valve is located on the boiler steam drum and operates automatically when the inlet side of the valve exceeds the specified pressure.
4. Level Indicator
a.Kazan Taqdiye Device
b.Magnetic Level Indicator
c.Level Requirement
4.a. Boiler Taunting Device
It is a device that controls the water level in the boiler in steam boilers. When the water in the boiler drops below a certain level, it makes contact and enables the boiler feed pump to operate, allowing water to enter the boiler. When the water level in the boiler exceeds a certain level, the boiler pump group is disabled, preventing water from entering the boiler. Tightening devices serve as safety elements in steam boilers.
4.b. Magnetic Level Indicator
These are devices that show the level of liquid in the Steam Boiler. The float immersed in the steam boiler rises or falls as the liquid in the tank rises and falls. Thanks to this movement in the float, the level indicator reads and shows the liquid level in the boiler.
4.c. Level Switch
Thanks to the level switch, if the water level in the boiler is above or below the required value, this switch is activated and protects the steam boiler system.
5. Steam Boiler Blowdown System
Blowdown system is the process of removing suspended solids or sludge at the bottom of the steam boiler by removing liquid from the boiler while the steam boiler is running.
5.a. Bottom Blowdown System
The system used to remove the sludge accumulated at the bottom of flame tube boilers or in the mud drum of water tube boilers from the boiler is called bottom blowdown system. Since the sludge will damage the heat transfer surface and boiler pipes in the boiler, and in this case negatively affect the boiler efficiency and boiler life, this sludge in the steam boiler should be removed from the system regularly, once a day, with the help of a bottom blowdown system.
5.b. Surface Blowdown System
The system used to remove solids suspended on the surface of the water in steam boilers from the system is called surface blowdown system.
Benefits of the Bluff System
- Purer and cleaner steam is obtained.
- Since sludge formation at the bottom of the boiler is prevented, corrosion and heat losses caused by sludge are also prevented.
- It provides a safer working environment by preventing boiler water from foaming and overflowing from the steam line.
- It prevents the possibility of the boiler level indicator becoming blocked due to mud, causing the indicator to become disabled and the boiler to become dehydrated.
6. Burner
Burners are devices that ensure complete combustion of the fuel used in steam boilers by mixing it with air in the most appropriate ratio.
Burners by Fuel Type
- Burners burning solid fuel
- Burners burning liquid fuel
- Natural gas burners
- Dual fuel burners
Burner Functions
- It delivers fuel to the combustion chamber.
- It provides air to the combustion chamber.
- Mixes fuel and air in appropriate proportions.
- Ignites and burns the mixture.
- It produces combustion products.
7. Steam Boiler Pump
It is used to transfer liquid into the boiler.
8. Vent (Air Release Valve)
The presence of air in the boiler reduces the temperature of the liquid in the boiler, and the moisture and oxygen in the air cause corrosion in the steam boiler. In this case, it negatively affects the system efficiency and lifespan. Therefore, the air in the steam boiler must be vented outside the boiler. Air release valves are used in steam boilers to expel this air.
9. Steam Line Valve
Valve that sends the steam from the steam boiler to the system for use in the facility where it will be used.
Why is regular inspection of parts important?
Just having these parts on the system is not enough. If regular maintenance, testing and calibration processes are not carried out, system performance may decrease and safety risks may increase. For this reason, the operating status of the equipment should be evaluated periodically.
Steam boiler parts are critical components that work together for the safe and stable operation of the system. If you would like to see the auxiliary units, you can review the auxiliary equipment content, and the steam boilers page to see the product options.
